Not impressed
Room was cold, heating didnt come on apparently until late afternoon, not good for March in Newcastle. Bed was allegedly a Queen but was in fact a double. Room overlooked main east coast rail line so was very noisy.

good and bad points
I have stayed here twice. First time I had a room that faced towards the river Tyne. Great view and very comfortable. Second time the room was on the other side which faces out onto a street. Rooms do not have air conditioning-which is not great if it is humid (as it was on our second visit). Back-facing rooms are also bad at the weekend because there is a lot of street noise from saturday night revellers. The location is very central and car parking is included - which it is not for several other Newcastle hotels in not so good locations. The location - next to the keep& High Level bridge is excellent. Breakfast is mediocre for the price (no fresh fruit when we were there - though pieces of fruit available to take away). Rooms are looking a little tired, but adequate.

Incredible service - recommended unreservedly!
The hotel is brilliantly located for access to both the city centre and the quayside. Perfect for shopping and nights out. The rooms are not small but can appear so because they are decorated in quite dark colours. The room facilities were good and the bed was comfortable. The hotel staff are the stars of the show, however. All staff (particularly the concierge) were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. When my friend and I experienced some difficulties they went above and beyond the call of duty to assist us.
