Great Florence hotel

Very well located (though hard to find if you don’t know where it is). Very beautiful, clean and comfortable. Helpful staff. Good breakfast.

Position

The position of the hotel is so special that one can overlook the fact that it is rather run down. Very good deal on the price so we have no grumbles but had we paid the full price we would have been very unhappy.

Prime location, but disappointed

When we checked in we were immediately asked if we wanted an upgraded room. We looked at the room we were originally assigned. It was very small, dark, in desperate need of renovation. So we took the upgrade, which was not cheap. The upgraded room was nominally better, but I’d say at best, a 3 star hotel, with the upgrade. Tiles in the shower were green with mold. Good news about this hotel is that it is in a prime location, near all the tourist sites. Breakfast was excellent.
