Lovely relaxing get away
We enjoyed using this hotel as our base for touring Provence. It was difficult to find even with the GPS but we figured it out. The hotel desk linked us up with a great kayaking company on the Sorgue river and a wonderful Provencal town market and a wine tour. Our 2 teenagers loved the indoor pool facility. The spa was excellent. The dinner was outstanding, especially the cheese course. They had a ping pong table and free internet. We got a suite for 4 with an outdoor garden. Outdoor pool excellent, but a bit too chilly in Oct.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
There are provencal markets throughout the area on different days. The wine tasting is excellent in Chateauneuf du Pape. Cant buy enough lavender.

Lovely hotel but food and services were very very expensive
We were initially disappointed with the area as it was quite a way out of Avignon with nothing appealing close by, The hotel could not be faulted as the accommodation (individual chalets) really was 4 star. The hotel was a typical old French mansion but the garden was quite tired. The cost for meals was extortionate even taking into consideration the terrible exchange rate at the time. Breakfast was 25 euros each!! dont ask for the dinner price. Beautiful indoor pool but one could not afford any of the treatment on offer without taking out a small mortgage. The staff were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble but it should be this way with their prices. huge thanks to Hotel.com for the discount as it really was worth a visit i would love to return when i have won the lottery.
Avignon is spectacular if you like old buildings and history - luckily we do. Not much for young children though. Standing on THE bridge of Avignon is a must . The entire Provencal area is beautiful but an Ibis closer to town would be a cost and time saver. Get a good map of the town as small streets are very easy to get lost in.

Excellent food
Hotel is lovely, great pool and garden, excellent restaurant -- but food is costly and there are no alternatives in the immediate vicinity.
