Great Location, decent hotel, affordable price.

We enjoyed this hotel. It’s right in the village. The rooms are quirky and cool. I especially appreciated all of the in-room amenities such as a fridge, fireplace and place to store your ski stuff in your room. With that being said, it’s a 3.5 star hotel in my opinion just due to the older nature of the hotel. The new design though is very modern and the rooms are cool.

If you want to sleep at night, look elsewhere

There’s a club on the ground floor of the Hotel. It is almost impossible to fall asleep while the club is open. The music is so loud, and the bass is so strong, even the complementary ear plugs can’t block out the noise. The fact the hotel provide complementary ear plugs should have been a warning sign. If you plan on staying out in the village until 2am every night. This is a great hotel for you. If you plan on sleeping at a normal time and waking up early to hit the slop, look for a different hotel. We will never stay here again.

Stylish small hotel

Room was very attractive with modern furniture and appliances. Colors and art-work were very pleasant. Good functional bathroom - great walk-in shower. Liked the loft bedroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Three negatives: bed was too soft and dipped in middle, there was noise late from a club on the ground floor of the building, and there was not enough lighting in the living-room area.

Traveller's tip on dining

Lots of good restaurants nearby. Araxi and Trattoria Umberto were great.

Would definitely recommend

A modern, but comfortable hotel right in the center of Whistler Village. A great alternative to the very upscale hotels nearby. Does have a hot tub, but no gym or pool.

Cute place, centrally located

I’m a long-time Whistler veteran...staying up there pretty much every other weekend during the snow season. I tried the Adara for the first time a couple of weeks ago and was impressed. It’s not the Westin or the Four Seasons, but it does fine, albeit a bit quirky. The bad: It’s definitely not a four star hotel. No room service that I could tell (maybe there was, I couldn’t find a menu anywhere). Goofy furniture and old school televisions. The wireless Internet was slow and flaky. It’s located right above Buffalo Bills, so if you’re a light sleeper, you’re better off finding another place. The good: great staff. Very friendly, very prompt. Excellent prices. None of the big chains in Whistler have seemed to figure out that there’s a recession. The Adara is appropriately priced for these times. The hotel is right in the middle of the Village, and about a 5 minute walk to the Gondolas. Bottom line: a pretty good hotel overall, and a great hotel for the price.

Alright

Quite comfortable beds, shower only has a rain head which is annoying for you can’t shower properly with only a rain head. Hot tub has a good view of the mountain and the hotel is centrally located

Not Impressed

The hotel is located right in the village so it is easy to get to everything so you dont need to use your car much. The do offer valet for a fee. They didn’t have a bellman when we checked in, but did when we checked out. The room is a loft style with the bed up very steep stairs and the bathroom down. The decor was odd for a hotel, knowing it was modern and danish before hand gave me an idea of the look, but it was still strange and very uncomfortable. The hotel needs some work, I wouldn’t rate it a 4 star hotel, it appears to be rather old and in need of some cosmetic updates. The staff was friendly and prompt, you have to order ice. The best part of the hotel were the pillows on the bed.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

A superb stay!! Will Definately be back.

The hotel is very central to everything in the village. We parked the car and didn’t see it again till we were leaving. The room was perfect, probably the best hotel room we stayed in on our three week trip of Canada. It had two very large beds which suite us because we had two children with us. The complimentary water was nice seeing we had to pay for water in all the other hotels we stayed in. The pool and outside hot tub was brilliant for relaxing and for the kids to have a bit of fun in. Overall an excellent hotel and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Great hotel for taking kids to. Whistler is a super place for activities with young children and I would it expect it was brilliant for any age of kids!

Very Happy

Stayed in June/July 2008, the hotel service was excellent, the staff were always friendly, the amenities were in working order and our room was very clean, plus it is in a great location. Very Happy with this hotel, will be staying there again next year.

Great Location & Quality

We stayed at the Adara for (3) nights and I was extremely impressed with the property. It is very small, but is in an ideal location to the village. The staff was very friendly, helpful and they seem to have all the comforts of home available for you (laptop with free internet, waters, hot tea, DVD players, etc). The room was very spacious and the bed was really comfortable. I usually go for larger properties but I was extremely impressed by this hotel and the great deal we got on the room. We’ll definitely be back!

Traveller's tip on dining

Restaurants to not miss: Whistler Brew House, Earl’s and Monk’s. Activities - Zip Lining (the Eagle Tour) and the ATV Mountain Adventure (in the summer months).

Staff friendly but won’t go back

The room was a bit run down and cheesy. It claimed to have "contemporary" decor but seemed more cheap and tacky than anything. Coffee table very wobbly, flimsy plastic chair and carpets frayed. The hot tub was disgusting. Not just green, but slimy. When I brought it to their attention, they did something to it as the next evening it wasn’t as green, but it also wasn’t warm. I have a hot tub at home so having one for after skiing is very important to me and it wasn’t available either day.

Excellent Service, very friendly, very good rooms

This is a very friendly, quality hotel. We couldn’t get a taxi due to the weather so the hotel manager took us in his own car! That’s service! And its right there in the middle of Whistler village so very convenient for everything.

location location location!

The Adara happens to be in an ideal location if staying in Whistler is your thing. Skiing is barely feet away and plenty of great restaurants abound. There’s a valet for your car beacause no parking available for free. There is a parking lot about 10 minutes walk away so no need to pay the money. Nice staff and very clean and the soap smells awesome.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Take a walk around Lost Lake and enjoy the quiet of the Rockies! Check out ’Proposition point’ and watch for the dog beach called Pooch Point and see the raft for them. Cute!

Stunning

What a lovely little hotel, just off the centre of Whistler, easy for access but no noise at all. The room was absolutely superb with a huge bedroom, large lounge and ample bathroom, shame we were only ther for one night!

Traveller's tip on recreational activities

Deluxe Comfort

We stayed in the Superior King and the bed, not to mention the room, was amazingly comfortable. It was also less than a 2 min walk to the village restaurants & shops.

Extremely nice and dog-friendly

I can only recommend this property from service and comfort to pet friendliness; even dog bed and bowl were supplied. We have already booked our next stay. Super nice staff!

Great Location, but not 4 star...

They really did try hard; however, it was definately not a four star hotel. Good location though, there was a grocery store and many places to eat nearby. If I ever go back, I will probably stay somewhere else.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Get a room with a kitchette if you can. Definately not a place for the budget traveler and eating can cost a fortune.

Boutique Hotel with Excellent Service

This was my second stay at the Adara. I book their suites. The bed is upstairs in the loft which is nice b/c if people in the room next to you are noisy you can still get some sleep..and if they are overly loud, the hotel provides earplugs! There is a speaker system for your ipod on the night stand and a nice single cd player in the living area. In the evenings they come around and provide bottled water and chocolates. Also, pets stay FREE! They provide pet beds and bowls. The location is excellent although it is behind the Crystal Hotel. But it’s right in the Village and a hop, skip and a jump to the lifts.

Traveller's tip on recreational activities

Lost Lake Loop is a very nice loop trail, that is very easy. When there is snow you can snowshoe it. Ziptreck with the longest zip line, 2000ft You can also take the lift up to Whistler Mtn. even if you do not ski. You will still pay a fee for the lift ticket. For those that want to get on the slopes and are not skiers there is the Sno Limo, in which you sit on a sleigh type thing and get guided around the mountain. I am going to have my 81yr old Grandma try that next year!
