Location, location...
Stayed for just one night at this comfortable hotel. The staff were friendly, albeit a little disorganised at breakfast when some food items ran out and no staff person seemed to notice. The Connoisseur room was comfortable and the complimentary water and wine was a nice touch. Breakfast was good for the bacon and egg brigade, but there were no real options for the continental fan. Did not eat an evening meal so cannot comment on that aspect.Location is the main feature, being easy to find just off the A34, so ideal to break a north to south journey (or vice versa) , for visiting the Cotswolds or in our case for a trip to explore Oxford. Recommended for a good value stay.
Look for restaurants that are offering special price meals if you eat before 6.30pm. We found a Beefeater Pub in the High Street and enjoyed three couress for a very reasonable price.

A good hotel
Spent 2 nights at this hotel as a base for walking in the area. Whilst the rooms were a good standard and the breakfasts very good it is the staff that make the difference, the staff at this hotel could not have done more.
Traveller's tip on recreational activities
Stretches of the Thames Path are in easy reach both up stream and down stream from Oxford, this hotel can easily be used as a base for walking from the Wallingford area to Radcot.

Very impressed
Enjoyable stay, with a very good breakfast. Also booked for the Sunday Lunch Carvery which was well worth the money, will certainly go back if the price is okay next time.
