Good Hotel but needs a lick of paint
The hotel was a lovely victorian crescent building on the harbour front. We were lucky to have our room upgraded from a standard to a larger sea view room on the front. The hotel though needs a lick of paint and is pealing all over which is a shame as it could luck very grand. The room was spacious but the shower thermostat did not work. We reported it to the desk but when we returned in the evening nothing had been done and this is due to the maintenance man only works during the week. There was pleanty of hot water for a bath though. We had to pay for the breakfast. It was a good breakfast with pleanty of variety but thought it was a liitle expensive on top of the room price. The staff were friendly and polite.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
We only used it as a base to see the castle and walk the white cliffs. I would chose a place other than Dover for a night out.
