Stay here, eat elsewhere
Apparently this hotel was formerly the Sheraton. Perhaps this is so as it it well situated, right in the middle of the new town. This is good, in my opinion, as I would not want to stay in the Medina. You’ll see why when you visit. If travelling by car you will be happy with the secure parking. It is not large but as most of your fellow guests will be arriving in tour buses it will probably have room for you. Quite a bit of refurbishment was discreetly underway when we visited. It caused us no inconvenience. This possibly explains why our room was nice. The owners are caring for this place. Reception service was good. Disappointed that the room we were allocated had not actually been made up when we arrived at 14h00 but we were immediately given another. A minor error, nicely recovered. Nice, clean rooms. Bathroom fittings quite old, but it all worked. The only part of our stay that was less than good was the quality and price of the restaurant food and the service given by the staff. The breakfasts (included in our room rate)were not very good at all. And the service was poor. The worst part was seeing the staff (wearing really scruffy suits) re-use the cloth napkins after use by customers! Uggh!! Overall not bad value at all. But eat elsewhere.
