A very good hotel
The Grand Hotel Eden is very good overall. The hotel personnel is very helpful. The complimentary breakfast buffet is also very good and the service is excellent. Also, they have a complimentary shuttle bus from and to Lugano airport, but you need to pre-book it.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Taxis in Lugano are expensive. Learn to use public transport, which is a lot cheaper. There is the Paradiso train station very near the hotel. From there you could practically go by train to anywhere you want.

A surprise on the inside
Was suprised at the exterior appearance and have to say I had initial disappointment. However, the room was terrific, great views, terrific bedding, nice bath. Very enjoyable stay.
