Great location
The view from our balcony was wonderful. The hotel staff were very friendly. The breakfast was ok, not wonderful. A lot of sweet and no protein but a hot water supply made instant oatmeal (provided by us) a good option. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Just an OK hotel
Just an OK hotel, if your looking for something cheap an close to town & airport, this will work. The staff was nice, however, when i requested an upgrade, i was told there is a bigger room, but it would cost me a few dollars more each night. (? even though the hotel didnt look close to being full!) The hotel sits on the edge of Hilo harbor, very nice and next to a beautiful park with coconut island, but it also appears to have a run down and abandoned hotel next to it. Not much to complain about because for an older hotel, it was nice (but just ok). Not much to choose from in the area.
Go eat at The Seaside Restaurant, 5 minutes from the airport.

The hotel was very run down. Smell of mildew was very bothersome
