Value for Money - Ramada Hotel - Long Island City NY
Although situated out of the hustle and bustle of New York it was nice to go back to a quiet area. NY subway (Queensboro Plaza) only 5 mins stroll from the hotel and then under 10mins to Times Square. One negative point - I had phoned the hotel to request two rooms close together as we were one family with 4 young children. The day before we traveled this was reserved but when we arrived we were placed 2 floors apart. However, the hotel was very clean and serviced each day. Breakfast was outstanding value (in fact complimentary) provided you were there early enough for the donuts!! Yum, yum! Coffee, hot chocolate and tea always readily available for self serve (and free)! Staff helpful! Would still definitely stay at this hotel again. If you want value for money and convenient to the Big Apple, then stay at the Ramada, Long Island City!! Happy customers, Portsmouth

Nice clean hotel
Although the condition of the hotel was excellent, I would have like to have seen our luggage placed in a secure room, with claim tags, when we left it awaiting check in. The area surrounding the hotel was a little run down, but the access to public transit was within a 5 minute walk ( I wouldn’t recommend walking after dark, even though we didn’t experience any problems)

A good place to ’recharge’ for another day of sightseeing
Rooms are nice and clean, a little bit on the small side when you are bringing 2 huge suitcases (stayed 5 days in NYC out of 2,5 week trip). Within 10 minutes by subway you are at Times Square. I really liked the location, away from the noise and crowds in Manhattan. Initially the neighborhood seemed bad, but we didn’t feel unsafe at all, not even when we were walking from the subway back to the hotel later in the evenings. Breakfast was ok, only bagles, doughnuts, bananas, juice, coffee and tea. Don’t expect a huge buffet. The only minor was the 4 tables they had for breakfast for the complete hotel. If you are looking for a nice, clean, quite place to stay during your visit to NYC (with a friendly staff), I think price/quality wise you cannot get it any better.
