Hotel to try
Hotel about 15 min walk along the river from centre. Rooms clean, comfortable, well serviced, although slightly dated. Pool small but adequate and rooftop table views excellent. Breakfast facilities very comprehensive and leisurely. Restaurant has slightly limited menu, but the service and quality was excellent, and prices compare with those in the centre. Staff eager to please and friendly. We enjoyed the earth tremor!
Traveller's tip on dining
Il Latini restaurant, Via del Palchetti - but essential to book.

Good points and bad!
My friend and I stayed at Hotel Kraft for a week in August 2009 and overall were pleased with it, however definitely would not class this hotel a four star! All staff we found to be extremely courteous and friendly with a very helpful attitude towards their guests, hotel restaurant very pricey but then Florence wasnt the cheapest place on the planet in general. Have stayed in many hotels in all parts of the world and have yet to come across a situation whereby you are not provided with an iron/ironing board, you actually had to pay for staff to iron your clothes (9.50 for one dress), alot of holiday spent in creased clothes :-) Rooftop pool was great in the evenings especially when you were wilted after a long day walking about Florence, float included which is great for those of us who can manage about half a width. Room we got very small and we were put in a family room which was very noisy especially as the children we got were very early risers! Would recommend a trip to Siena too by the way, lovely, although Florence very hot in August, Searing heat all day and very uncomfortable. Good enough hotel but nothing special, alot better in Ireland.

Excellent Hotel close to old town
Extremely polite and solicitous staff. Good continental breakfast sets you up for a 10-15 min walk to main tourist attractions. Rooftop pool/bar/restaurant/sundexk is a definite plus after a day of sightseeing
The pool/sundeck is quite small - so if you want o make use of it get there before 3.00. Make an advabce booking for Uffizi museum or face a long wait or a very early start to get to the front of the queue.
