Will return often

This is my second stay at this hotel. My brother has also stayed there twice and both of us are very impressed with the hotel. It is very comfortable with awesome beds. The hotel is right by the freeway but there was minimal noise and it did not keep me awake. Likewise the heater/air conditioner was plenty quiet. I am glad they have a thermostat so you can keep the room at the temperature you prefer. You can’t ask for a better location for Albuquerque. Born and raised there I know just how convenient this hotel is, which is why I chose it in the first place. Yes, it is an older hotel (both my father and brother worked there when it was a Howard Johnson’s) but it is in great shape. I will be back whenever I travel to visit family in Albuquerque.

Albuquerque in the fall is a dream. The balloons are in the deep blue sky, the air is fragrant with the smell of roasting green chili, and the leaves are a brilliant yellow. Sensory overload!

Rude Front Desk / Decent Value

Management is fairly rude and housekeeping is not much better despite daily tips. Our first room had only one bed even though the reservation was for three people. The second room was on the freeway side and very noisy. When I called and politely inquired about switching rooms I was told they did not have any more rooms available and if we didn’t like it we could check out. Not likely since the room was already paid for as part of a package and we were in a strange city 2200 miles from home. The pool and the onsite restaurant were closed. The breakfast was acceptable and the room was spacious and clean. The hotel is located near downtown and many restaurants and attractions. Considering the bargain rate we were able to get past the above problems and enjoy our week in Albuquerque. We travel as a family several times a year and are not picky travelers, but rudeness is hard to overlook. A difference in attitude among management and some housekeeping staff would have made a big difference in this review.
