frigid restaurant
This is an Italian style bistro with B&B rooms. The rooms were tiny but very clean and well equipped. Lighting on the stairs to the room was controlled by a push time switch so there was a real danger of being in the dark before reaching the room. Dinner in the bistro was good, the set meal was excellent value and quality. BUT, a cold October night and the heating was not on! My wife and I were uncomfortably cold both in the evening and at breakfast. A complaint produced neither action nor explanation. Breakfast is from 08.30 to 09.30 - far too late a start. Car parking is in the ’pay and park’ behind the restaurant needing a visit in the morning to get a ticket from the machine before 09.00. However, its central location in Monmouth and the price made it good value.
