Mean-spirited but comfortable
Very comfortable bed, quiet room and excellent swimming pool but watch out for the extras, on top of the top end room charges: €25 for wi-fi/day, €15 for parking/day (yet the hotel is in the countryside), €25 for breakfast unless you ask to go "a la carte" - which earns you a scornful look from the staff. Check, also, that you’ve got the right Kempinski. We went for the only Kempinski that comes up on the web for Frankfurt and consequently spent a fortune on gettting to the other side of Frankfurt each day, close to where the other Kempinski is.
You’re out in the country so you need wheels to go anywhere other than the hotel’s upmarket restaurant or the pleasant German bar in the grounds of the hotel.

Comfort & Class in the Forest
This was the third hotel of our 10 hotel European tour. I have stayed in this hotel in the past, but not since the end of the 80’s and always wanted to take my wife to Gravenbruch so that she could enjoy the spa and the wonderful cuisine and that I could enjoy the outdoor facilities that I was never able to indulge in as I was always there on business...happy to say that we were not disappointed!! The spa facilites are extensive, well designed, spotless and comfortable with attentive staff and the massage therapist gave my wife an outstanding Swedish massage. The bedroom was very large with a wooden floor and a lovely bathroom with a view of the forest; a very firm but fun bed! The menu is not extensive but is packed full of inventive and varied dishes that offer something for everyone. The food was delicious, well presented and value for money and as with all things in life, you get what you pay for. ..so enjoy the Gravenbruch Kempinski, because we certainly did!
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Enjoy the facilities of the hotel and then take a taxi into Frankfurt; it only takes about 20 minutes and there is a huge variety of bars, restaurants and clubs to enjoy. Very friendly people! The hotel has a ’Smoking Room’ which used to be the bar. They really should have left this alone, but I suppose with so many smoking bans in operation in international hotels, especially the ridiculous zealousness in America, the management had to do something for their Euro clientelle, who love to smoke!

Outstanding hotel
Everything about the Hotel was perfect, the food, the facilities, the area was no less than fantastic (a forest as a neighbour)...what more can you ask for!!
