Crescent Suites Hotel: An excellent choice!
We were a little concerned about this hotel...we could not find it on google maps, and the location appeared to be a bit far away from Boston downtown...but we had a very nice suprise!! Waltham is a very quiet, nice and beatiful town, where you can do almost everything you want. What to say about the hotel? It’s amazing. The reason why we couldn’t find it on google prior our trip was because it is a brand new hotel, and it was under construction when the google photo was taken. Rooms are great (kitchen, bathroom, TV), some of them have view to the river! And the service is excellent. Michael (owner, manager) is a very nice guy and the rest of the staff is also friendly and helpfully. Transportation to downtown Boston from hotel: don’t try to take the buses near the hotel, you will have a nasty suprise on weekends and holidays. Walk 10-12 blocks to the square in front of the Waltham train station (Carter St) and take the bus # 70 to Central Square. Then just take the subway line wherever you want in Boston. If you walk these 10-12 blocks, you will enjoy a lovely view of Charles river...but if you do not want to walk, just pay $5-$6 for a taxi ride from the hotel to the 70 bus station. Best way to get this hotel: once arrived to Boston, take the red subway to Central Square station. Then catch the # 70 bus to Cedarcreek/Waltham. Bus will let you on a Square (there’s a memorial on it)...you will see the train station on the other side of the street (Carter St). From here, you can walk from Carter St, then turn left on Moody St and after crossing the bridge, find the corner Moody & Crescent. Turn right on Crescent and walk on this lovely and quietly street until you find the hotel on the # 287 (you will need to walk 7 or 8 blocks on Crescent St). Hotel is on the corner of Crescent and Orange.

Clean hotel, friendly staff, very affordable!
We had to travel to the Boston area for a medical appt. and to visit family and we did not want to stay in a pricey hotel because mostly we would be out all day, just sleeping in the hotel at night. This place was perfect. Reasonably priced and near major highways. Lots of very good local places to eat. The place is very clean and offers breakfast. The staff answered all our questions, suggested restaurants and offered water and coffee upon arrival. Julianna (working when we arrived ) was extremely helpful and friendly! An important note: I am a lousy sleeper and I actually slept at night because it wasn’t very loud. Overall, we were very pleased and will definitely stay there again.
