love/hate

It was situated in a nice area (Hyde Park) it was a tad far from the rest of the city, but the 2 block walk to the tubes wasn’t bad. If you are from the states and are not accustomed to being on a hard bed, watch out, was like a slab of concrete with sheets on it. All was quaint and the staff was friendly (at least by London terms) but had a great time. The morning staff was of help when my cab didn’t show up in the morning, but otherwise; they did hail for a radio taxi to get me to the train station asap. Had no problems with the internet and the breakfast was decent.

Central London Soe Box

Having stayed in numerous hotels within the London area including Croydon, my first impression of this hotel was somewhat sceptical. The bedrom I was allotted on arrival was no bigger than a shoebox, there was no room whatsoever in which to relax. The TV was in the wardrobe and not viewable while lying in bed because the wardrobe door obstucted the view. The bathroom was abismal, small, towels where located on top of the toliet cistern. The flush did not work, only by accidentally knocking the cisterfn lid did the cistern fill to enable the toilet to flush. We had not had the pleasure of breakfast when the maid knocked on the door to remind us that we had to check out by 11000am. Outside the bedroom new linen and towels where deposited presumably ready to be ensconched as soon as we cecked out. Overall it will be a long time before I even consider returning if ever to the Commordore Hotel.

For the cost of a room at this hotel there is better to be found in London.
