Difficult to Rate this Hotel so read comments for more detail
There are several reasons why this hotel is difficult to rate. with the exception of the Bellman with the ponytail, all other emploees were rude and unwilling to help. Asking for linens seemed like a chore and inconvenience for the service. However, I bet if we asked this bellman, he would have done it without question and with a smile. The hotel was definitely historical in nature, but it needs renovations internally and externally. The hotel is across the street from the beach. It is also just a couple blocks from the tourist (trap) restaurant/shopping district. If you like the Nice beaches and you like the tourist trap type areas this is a great location. The hotel is expensive and for the money you spend, the private beach area should be included. It was not and was very expensive. The hotel is very close to everything, including the bus, train, and airport. Are there better options in Nice? Perhaps, and if I did this again, I woudl look elsewhere, but I think in this category, they’re probably all the same.

The tourist trap area should be avoided. You will wait a long time for food and it’s expensive and not good. Try to plan in advance and find better restaurant options.

Hotel Westminster, Nice. Old worlde charm
We recently spend 3 nights at the Westminster to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is charming, in an old fashioned way, and our room, with a balcony overlooking the sea and the Promenade des Anglais was all that we could have hoped for. We had dinner at the terrasse restaurant one evening and the food and service were both excellent. Our one disappointment was that the private beach opposite the hotel charged us a high price for its use. We had assumed that as the hotel had no swimming pool the use of its beach would be included in the price of our stay. Aoart from that everything was splendid, and we would recommend it.

Very impressed
Sea rooms have the most fantastic view of the Med and of the Nice seafront, absolutely gorgeous.
