Highly recommend for a family break

My husband, 10month old daughter and I spent 2 nights at the hotel and found the room very clean and comfortable and spacious. We had our own travel cot (but was offered one by the staff), there was plenty of room for it in the room. The reception staff were really nice and very friendly too. Breakfast was very good pretty much anything and as much as you wished - buckfuzz on arrival was an added bonus! We ate both evenings in the casual dinning area (J28) the food hear was also excellent. We also had full use of the hotels pool and spa which was very nice. I found there were no baby changing facilities but managed to change my baby on the bench. While waiting for my husband after our swim I then notice there was a changer in a disabled toilet in the reception area but unfortunatle was not told about it on arrival. There were plenty of high chairs for meal times. This was our first family hotel stay and it was a pleasure to stay here.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Use the spa facilities - really nice.

Excellent choice for a chilled night away from it all!

we stayed here for a 1 night get away and it was an excellent choice! the exec room we had was brilliant, coulf it 4 people in it easy it was that big! room was dressed realy nice, bathroom was clean and fresh and all looked modern, and the lcd tv was an added bonus for him! when we arrived our room was not ready and the hotel was realy busy due to having 2 weddings on but the staff coped with the rush well. i would never hesitate to reccomend this hotel and i would deffo stay here again.

we had a drink at the bar when we arrived but the prices were realy expensive £10 for a vodka and a cider!!! because of this we decided against eating at the hotel and opted for a meal into town, just a quick taxi ride away.

As Best Westerns go,

this hotel is by far the best we have stayed at - if only it were somewhere else other than Leyland - but very convenient to the motorway so one could get out and about quickly. It had very interesting features - like a giant size chairs and other unusual furniture scattered about - a large TV that was set in a picture frame, a friendly, cute little teddy bear in the room - a welcoming touch - a home away from home feel. Breakfast was to a very high standard catered to everyones taste. The evening meal was served on very interesting china which was the best part of the dining experience. My husband and I would have no qualms about staying there again - but would go elsewhere to have an evening meal.

Traveller's tip

Leyland itself has absolutely nothing going for it, but the Peak District near by has to be seen to be believed.
