A few bumps but comfortable
We stayed at the Blakemore on our trip to London due to its central location. This is clearly a budget no-frills hotel, which is beginning to become a bit run down, but the rooms are kept very clean. We were not told prior to our stay that the building next door was being renovated, so our time in the room was accompanied by the sound of jackhammers or something that sounded like that. Still, we didnt go to London to spend all of our time in a hotel. Service was relatively good, but our request for a wake up call was forgotten the day of our departure. Overall, if you are looking for something cheap and central, the Blakemore is a good place to stay.

Worse than expected
The Hotel is undergoing mass renovations, to both the interior and exterior. Upon arriving at the hotel I was please by a nice and spacious lobby. That was where the positives ended. There is one elevator for the hotel, which seems to takes quite a while between floors. The room level floors didnt seem flat, giving the hallways a warped feeling. The room I stayed in was tiny! Virtually a tiny bedroom with a small bed and an old 13 inch TV mounted above the bed. The bathroom sink was next to the bed, and the entire room had a very cramped feeling. The staff was very unfriendly and less then helpful. I was given the wrong room key once and every time I talked to one of them they seemed bothered by the interruption. The location of the hotel isnt bad. Not far away at all from the Whiteley mall and paddington station. Room was clean at least. Noisy construction during the day and cleaning service that came as early as 9am WITHOUT knocking. Walls are also paper thin, leading to a large amount of unwanted noise from nearby rooms. Definitely not what I paid for and would never stay there again.
