fantastic
We were upgraded to the sister hotel- the Herodion. Both hotels are ideally located for a visit to Athens. Our room even had a view of the Arcopolis! The breakfast was wonderful and the staff very helpful. It was a breeze to get to either hotel from the airport as the subway stop was 3 blocks away. Also ideal for visiting the New Acropolis Museum.

A perfect location
Located in a residential neighborhood next to the Acropolis museum, this hotel was in a perfect location to see all of Athens by foot or subway. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast lady started the day right with a kali mera. We really liked the staff and the location. The rooms were spotless, but a little small.
As a guide book, use the Pocket guide book given to you by the hotel. It has the most up to date info on everything to do and see.

Great location, even better price
The hotel was situated two blocks from the Acropolis, and right next to the Acropolis Museum. Within a five to ten minute walk, there were tons of tavernas (eateries) and shops. Perfect location! The Philippos Hotel staff was very helpful, and spoke good English. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was great (fruits, yogurts, pastries, toast, hard boiled eggs, coffee, juice, cereal, etc). The only downside was that you had to pay to use the internet and could only use it on the hotel computer. Otherwise the hotel was great. Highly recommended!
