not worth the money
Had to move rooms as I was placed on top (9th) floor and my room appeared to be directly under the the noisy rooftop aircon machinery. Got moved to the 6th floor and the shower didn’t work there and suffered from traffic noise. The elevators were absolutely hopeless. Staff helpfull though and it’s in a very convenient location. I’d expect to pay a lot less for this level of quality.

Great central location; close to bus and tube lines. Not a fancy hotel, but OK for the money.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
walk around to Queensway to get inexpensive meals; also to find take out food; especially at 2 different grocery delis close to Bayswater.

Decent hotel
Spent a few nights in the Thistle Kensington Gardens hotel and was quite satisfied with it. The room was a decent size, clean and comfortable, and included a small safe and good hair dryer. The location is very good, opposite is the park and in short walking distance there are various restaurants, shops, and the tube stations Queensway and Bayswater. Oddly there is a petrol station in the front area, but that did not matter from an access or comfort point of view! The concierge is at the entrance, on the side street just off the main road, and the reception and restaurant/breakfast area on the 1st floor, all impressively decorated giving a 1930’s luxury feel. Only real complaint was the lack of free WiFi. This could be bought in the hotel, but it is an omission given that some nearby cafes offer free connection with your morning coffee, and some hotels offer this inclusive of cost.
