This Hotel is Fantastic. It is very romantic, the staff is friendly and the rooms and grounds are immaculate. It was one of the best places of our entire trip!

Outstanding in all ways

We had just two nights in Capri, so we wanted to be in a top-notch hotel. And Caesar Augustus was just that. We had a garden view room, but it seemed more like a villa than a room and we could still see the Naples Bay from our room. The views from the pool and terraces were simply outstanding, and the sunsets were breathtaking. The infinity pool was very inviting, but surprisingly chilly for mid-September. The hotel had a very expansive breakfast buffet included, but dinner at the restaurant, although very good was expensive. The location of the hotel in Anacapri gave it the wonderful views, but it also was outside the busy Capri port town. Being outside the main shopping and dining area of Capri could be a negative for some, but it was a positive for us. Definitely call ahead to have the hotel shuttle pick you up from the port when you arrive. It’s free and will save you a 20-25 euro cab fare. Local buses are another option as they run from the main Capri town to the hotel regularly for a couple euros. Be sure to explore the town of Anacapri a short walk from the hotel to get a good Capresian experience. The hotel will purchase your ferry tickets to leave the island if desired and charge it to your room, so that is convenient. This is a resort that needs to be enjoyed, so if you want a hotel to be a base for other activities, then you should stay somewhere else.

Romantic retreat

We stayed for 3 days recently at the Caesar Augustus and were really impressed. The views from this cliffside location can’t be beaten an the infinity pool was sensational! It was a wonderfully peaceful place, away from the crowds in the main part of Capri -perhaps should be adults only as it really was so romantic. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, though breakfast was a lovely experience wih lots of fresh produce. Given the high price of the hotel, complimentary water would have been appreciated as would have some fresh fruit availability during the day. The lack of a shuttle bus into Capri also made the trip more expensive with taxi’s keen to overcharge for the journey. The staff were lovely - even arranging our ferry ticket for Positano on the morning of our departure. Small touches such as this make all the difference.
