Shuttle Service
In USA all hotel airport shuttle service is no charge. Paying the equivelent of $5.00 per person, one way to a hotel that is 1 mile away, is uncalled for. Nowhere in our reservations did it state there was a charge.

Gatwick Best Western - Crossroads Motel
Arriving in the dark this hotel was not that easy to find but the receptionist gave us good directions over the phone. On check-in you are reminded of the TV series Crossroads... it does all look a bit tired and dated but no problems checking in and a room for 2 with 4 beds was a bonus. All very clean and functional but the restaurant was dire. No atmposphere in the "Piazza Del Esso" as we called it.... our table was facing the top canopy of the esso service station... the red glow did us no favours. We plumped for the special of the day.... a choice that hung over me for two days. My advice would be to grab sandwiches from the petrol station. Seemingly a good place for any Gatwick trips but not really a hotel for tourist breaks
