Well worth a visit!!
Dubrovnik is stunning, amazing and beautiful. My partner and I spent 4 days there, we felt this was long enough in October as the weather was beginning to go cool. Our hotel Lapad was lovely, the rooms were so ultra modern, very clean and a fantastic eat as much as you lie breakfast, all superbly cooked and plenty of it. Staff were very helpful and the views in the morning of the cruise ships docked were somthing else. The whole are didnt disappoint, from the local villages, easy to access by bus, every 10 mins to the city walls and whole history of the place. The horel was in a great place for sightseeing and you could walk to the old town if you wanted to. Would not recommend for infirm as lots of steps etc. Beware taxi drivers as they will charge silly amounts if they know you have only just arrived and also beware of something they call couvert on the bill in a restaurant. They will bring you fish pate or something like and when you try to send it back they insist you have it as if its a freebie, they then charge approx £4.00 each on the bill, please argue with them though as they will take it off if they are challenged as they know its a con but they try it anyway!!! Apart from this we absolutely loved our break in Dubrovnik and would certainly recommend for a ferw days holiday!!!

Good Location helpful team of staff
Location good over looking harbour two miles out of Old Town but good facilities locally, cafes, harbour, supermarket, post office close by. On bus route for No6.. bus stops outside hotel from Old Town Evening meals good value but as we were there for 12 nights repetetive.. deserts are very good and beautifully presented. Breakfast very wide choice but the cooked food was not hot and some of the dining room staff seem less than interested in guests Reception eager to help with our queries
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Difficult to access public transport to go out side of Dubrovnik unless organised tour Very disappointed by poor information and lack of enthusiasm from official Tourist information could not find out about City Ticket and what it covered withiout buying one (so we didnt)

Dont splurge for a seaview room
The Lapad is a nice hotel in a relatively quiet area, convenient for those who are driving. The rooms are clean and modern, breakfasts good, and staff polite. Tends to be overloaded with tour groups, but so does Dubrovnik as a whole. Weve stayed in both regular rooms and, most recently, a seaview room. Despite a premium charge, room 25 instead has a great view of the roof of another building - you have to stick your head out the window to see water at all. No balcony, either. Stay with a regular room - theyre cheaper and nicer!
