Great view of the Jail!

As the jail is the historic castle, we had a great view! The location was central and ideal for exploring the city by foot. Decent size car park. The quaint lift was efficient.

Not bad

I have stayed here several times before and the rooms really are 3 star. Single rooms are quite pokey and not a lot of wardrobe space. The bathroom is quite basic - the room I was in the bathroom actually sloped towards the bath. The windows are also not double-glazed so the room can be quite noisy at night as you are right on a main road. The hotel is saved however by a very pleasant mixed continental and cooked breakfast, also by its close proximity to the railway station (not even a five minute walk). I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area - there are better hotels nearer the lakes and also in Preston. However, for anyone actually going to Lancaster I have stayed in worse. I think the hotel has actually dropped in class since I last came.

Traveller's tip on shopping

Another redeeming factor is the town centre is literraly accross the road.
