unfortunate encounter
Majority of the hotel employees seemed unhappy at their work and it was very apparent - making my stay there rather uncomfortable. Many of the ameties was not operational.

Great location, very nice hotel, excellent room service
My stay at the Pittsburgh Hilton was scheduled to include my opportunity to attend a football game at the nearby stadium. Lots of good restaurants within easy walking distance. Rooom clean and comfortable, great service.

Great place to stay for Pitt/Steelers games
this was my first visit since 1999, and theve really done some nice updates to the rooms and the bar area. Great place to stay especially if youre going to a football or baseball game. Only downside-- and its not a hotel issue-- is that Market Square is being torn up and there was other construction around gateway center/penn ave so walking to midtown from the hotel was not as convenient as it usually is. (market sq construction should be complete by June or July 2010) All in all nice decor, good service, and very comfortable beds (imo)
definitely go to Phipps Conservatory, and if possible go in the fall! The surronding Schenley Park is gorgeous in the fall.
