Great hotel - friendly staff
If you want a hotel that’s quiet, but not too far away from everything, then the Fashion Hotel is for you. Was greeted by friendly and efficient receptionists, check-in was quick and easy. Room was on the 2nd floor, quiet and peaceful - perfect for me. It was spotlessly clean, bed was huge and so comfortable I wanted to sleep all day. Sinking into the bath after a hard days touristing was simply bliss. Towels in the bathroom were so thick and soft you could sprinkle some sugar on and eat them. Room was cleaned daily. Slight issue with Wi-Fi availability, but the nice ladies at reception let me check email on the computer at reception. Stayed 4 nights here and would definitely return. Didn’t eat in the restaurant, so can’t comment on the food, but it always looked full in the evenings. Easy access from Amsterdam Central Station - catch Tram 1 or 17 (takes about 20 mins), then a 5 min walk to the hotel. Tram 1 goes via Leidseplein - about 10 mins to restaurants, bars, and chocolate waffles. (and if you’re really feeling energetic you can walk it in 45 mins). Fashion Hotel strongly recommended (and the chocolate waffles too).
Grabbed some fruit, bread, biscuits, milk, cheese etc from local supermarket. But very small fridge so don’t buy large items.

Tram stop a short walk away
The hotel itself is great but the nearest tram stop is a good 5 minutes away...not bad in good weather but not fun in the rain! still worth it IMO

Would definately stay here again
Stayed here on a surprise trip for my husbands 50th birthday. Tram stop only a couple of minutes walk from hotel - not an inconvenience at all. Hotel lovely, staff really friendly & helpful. Booked this hotel because it had a swimming pool and sauna - which the majority of hotels in Amsterdam do not. We made good use of the pool & sauna to relax after all the walking we did in Amsterdam - so much to see and do! Sky bar on 10th floor was lovely to unwind in at night with a cocktail or two! Bedroom was perfect with air conditioning and also "patio" doors which opened. Glass bathroom door was a novelty although I was slightly worried after reading other comments which failed to mention that the toilet was totally separate! Hotel also has a luggage room if you want to leave your case and collect later when going to the airport - which we did - there is also a computer available at the end of reception, which we used to check in on line for our flight. Had a beautiful meal at the Holland Casino Amsterdam for my husbands 50th while watching others lose their money!! Would also recommend the Sea Palace - a three storey floating Chinese restaurant just a short walk from Central Station. Thoroughly enjoyed Amsterdam and will be back again soon - this time with our two sons.

Make sure to buy a 24 hr or 48 hr pass for the tram - available from the hotel - this gives you unlimited access to the wonderful transport system that Amsterdam has
