Excellent little oasis of calm
The Santa Maria hotel exceeded all our expectations. Staff were polite and helpful, the breakfast was of a high standard and the room was confortable and cosy. The courtyard was a real bonus, as it was silent and charming - you wouldn’t have thought that bustling Trastevere was just outside. I would return there tomorrow.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Use the hop on hop off bus tour across Rome. A 48 hour ticket is only 24 pounds, and a river cruise ticket is thrown in with that. It’s a great way to see the sights (and save your aching feet!)
