Eight nights in San Francisco
The White Swan exceeded my expections, from the front desk ( Kevin and Mary) the housekeeping staff and the kitchen staff. The hot gourmet breakfast and the evening wine reception both were a great way to meet fellow travelers. The room size was LARGE, the fireplace was a nice touch and the street noise never bothered us.The White Swan is within walking dictance to cable car routes and bus stops, also to Union Square and Chian Town. I highly recommend The White Swan and WOULD stay there again!!
Some fun things to do, take The Victorian House Walk Tour and The Ghost Hunt Tour, also have an In and Out burger.

Great boutique hotel in san francisco
Great hotel in san francisco. Good location a few blocks from union square and 2 blocks to cable car stop. Good range of foods at breakfast and enjoyable complimentary cheese and wine for after a days shopping or sight seeing. Would happily stay here again when in san francisco.

A gem of a hotel
This hotel was a delight to be in, and very cosy with its multitude of china tea pots, plates and all sorts of British memorabilia displayed in the lounge - we really felt we were at home! We were in Room 34, the bed was very comfortable, big, and decorated with loads of pillows and an adorable teddy bear. What made my husband’s day was the fireplace in the room - he would sit every night in front of it and watch TV. It is 2 blocks away only from Union Square, 4 blocks to Chinatown, and approx 10 minutes walk to the Powell-Hyde cable car and all of the various restaurants/shops in, or around Union Square. The Mozart restaurant, opposite the hotel is very good, and so is Toni Sushi if you like sushi (1 block from the hotel) . The White Swan Inn’s breakfast is excellent with a lot of choices, and every afternoon they have a good cheese & wine reception in the lounge from 5.00 to 6.30pm. They also have delicious home made cookies in a jar at the reception area, where you can help yourself. We would highly recommend this delightful hotel to anybody travelling to San Francisco, and the staff is very helpful and friendly.
