Little Gem

Petite Auberge in San Francisco is a querky place to stay - good position and very comfortable without being luxurious.Great value with breakfast included and wine and hors d’oeuvres every evening. A sociable place to chat with your fellow travellers.

Not impressed

We stayed just 2 nights in it, the location is very good as you can reach Chinatown, Fishermans wharf and Union Square just couple of blocks away from it. They do include breakfast ( but not so much to be honest, could be better for the price you pay), also they include wine meetings at 5.00-6.30pm so you can meet the rest of the guest and enjoy a little bit, but you would be expecting French wine, won’t you? well... they put Californian wine ( wasn’t bad either), the room was ok, mattress was very soft that you fall in the middle of it, not very nice feeling in the middle of the night! The rest ok, but not too much. We were expecting a little bit more.

Not well maintained

Hotel was very pretty, service was fabulous. But the hotel is not well maintained, we may have just been unlucky but the first room we were in was so noisy we were moved to another which had a blocked toilet that flooded the room (and by the smell and wet floor this was not a new issue) then moved to a new room where the lights and tap didnt work. No rooms had curtains which is an issue for me as a light sleeper, no air con which contrary to popular belief IS needed in san francisco as it was warm and muggy. We were told to open the windows, its so noisy though that lead to no sleep either. Overall it was disappointing. I did send a complaint to the management but have had no reply. Oh and the breakfast... it tries to be french cuisine but was poor choice to be honest
