Great Stay

We were lucky in that hotel was relatively quiet but this did not detract from the overall service provided. Really nice & friendly staff delivering great service. Met the manager on a number of occasions and he was always interested in how things were and how we were enjoying our holiday - never had that experience previously. He always seemed genuinely interested in what you had to say. Would recommend the hotel to anyone going to Barbados for a holiday.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

Make use of the local bus services instead of always using taxis. Very cheap transport, people very friendly and nevr any hassle.

Good value and location for the west coast!

The hotel is located on Paynes Bay, the nicest beach on the west coast and also where all the catamarans bring guests to go snorkeling with the turtles (which you can do from shore for free). We had a standard oceanfront room and there were slippers and robes provided which was a nice touch as well as a mini fridge which came in handy for storing beer and water. The beach/pool attendant was great, he was always there to take our drink order if we needed something, bringing us frozen popsicles to cool us off, or even one day bringing us over a dry pad for the sun lounger without us even asking! My husband really enjoyed the free watersports offered at the resort which included wake boarding and water skiing and the watersports staff were extremely helpful too. The Sasso restaurant was closed while we were there, but we did eat at the Tangiers Restaurant for breakfast (which was included in our package)and then often times got lunch from the Roti Den across the street and enjoyed our dinners out at our favorite restaurants throughout the island. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Tamarind Cove even though we didn’t like having to drive so far in the evenings to visit some of the restaurants on the south coast and the gap area. We would definitely consider staying here again if the price was right and would certainly recommend it for those looking for a nice relaxing stay in Barbados.

Traveller's tip

The hotel atmosphere is very low key (no splashing screaming children in the pool areas or on the beaches) so if you have young children this may not be the place for you. Also, unless you plan on never leaving the hotel, I would not do the all inclusive plan as there are so many wonderful restaurants on the island you truely would miss out on some great meals!

Nice hotel

Overall, this was a nice hotel at a decent price. We had a superior room right in front of the ocean. Breakfast was good, beach was not crowded.

Traveller's tip on dining

Try the nearby Daphne’s restaurant. Pricey but great !
