Not what we expected

This was a big disappointment. Fortunetly we were only booked in for one night. I had booked and paid for a bungalow but on arrival we were allocated a mobile home which was awful. It was stuffy, claustrophobic and smelt. To give the staff credit when we complained they found us a bungalow but I felt that they had tried it on, as we were only staying one night. The site is not pretty, is very basic and not big enough for the number of mobile homes, caravans, tents and bungalows on site. I would not stay here again.

If you like to mix with the locals rather than loads of British tourists this is the place for you

This seems to be a place that Spanish and French people vacation rather than British tourists. I loved that fact most of all because it didn’t feel like we were staying on a British council estate! The lodge was lovely and clean, the staff were amazingly friendly and we will definitely be going back next year. The one negative ,which could also be a positive, is that its in the middle of nowhere. But it’s only a half an hour cycle ride, 15 minute drive, to the beach and other ameneties.

Getting around It’s best to get the train to Peniscola train station if using public transport and its then only 13 euros to the accommodation. I wouldn’t take a car as you can rent out bikes and mopeds from reception which is a much easier and fun way to get around.
