Good place to sleep.
My room was very small and simple. I spent very little time at the hotel, so this met my needs just fine.

A great alternative to the big chains
The hotel itself has a lot of charming character - great ambience and decor. The rooms are small and simple but perfectly comfortable. My rating is based on adjusting the curve to price. When you book at a room at such a low rate and in an independent establishment, you know that you’re going to be "sacrificing" a little bit from the conventional hotel experience in exchange for saving a LOT of money. In the Margarita Inn’s case, the sacrifices are very minor and exactly the sort of thing I’m more than willing to put up with in exchange for the benefits of the place: the air conditioners are free standing units with condensation buckets that need to be emptied, you don’t have your own bathroom, and the wireless is only available in the lobby. I guess it’s just a matter of how much those kinds of things bother you. There was never a crowd (and usually not another person) in the men’s room and, while the fixtures were old, everything was kept perfectly clean. Admittedly, I was there during a slow time of year, but I was also there for a full week, so if there had been lapses in upkeep I would probably have encountered them at some point, and I didn’t. I’ve stayed here and at the evanston best western, and when I go back to evanston, I’m definitely checking out rates here first.
