friendly and helpful people
Bartender was great, and the "bar food" was chef prepared, with good choices available. Even the in room coffee was quality. Overall, very nice. The immediate neighborhood was not charming, the hotel being the best destination around.
If driving using internet generated directions, try electing to avoid toll roads. The alternative routes are generally fine, always more interesting, and the tolls are increasingly frequent and costly.

nice hotel in a bad city
The nicest part of the trip was definitely the hotel. Went for a wedding and the city was certainly a disappointment. Recommend Roast for dinner, located in the Cadillac Westin hotel.

Nice hotel, only a short walk from the Patrick V. McNamara Federal Building in down town Detroit.
A very nice hotel,but the food is overpriced and the wait time for service at non peak times is extensive,we ate dinner and breakfast, I would not want to eat there again. The service both room and check-in/out were very helpfull and professional.
