Hotel Metropole - Venice
We were absolutely delighted with this super hotel. The location, five minutes from St Marks Square, was ideal and very convenient. The decor was stunning and the room very comfortable indeed. The buffet breakfast was a treat in itself. We did not eat in the restaurant as the Michelin Star made it rather expensive, but it all looked very good. The staff were all very friendly and professional. Highly recommended!
Arrive by waterbus. Buy your ticket at the airport - the kiosk inside the terminal doesnt take plastic, but take the covered walkway to the bus stop and you can buy the same tickets there for cash or or debit/credit cards. The orange line is faster, but much more expensive, the blue or red lines are the scenic ones and are more interesting.

great position but...
Do not be fooled this is not a five star or four star hotel. The staff are dour, bad tempered and unwelcoming. They are too busy to be dealing with clients! The rooms are small and you would be a lot better staying at the Londra hotel next door if you are keen for the location aspect of this hotel.

Fabulous hotel with great service
We had a lovely stay at the Metropole for our anniversary, service was excellent - they even brought a free bottle of prosecco to our room to celebrate. The restaurant were also very good to us when my husband fell ill during the meal, bringing desert to our room so we could finish. Great location, and a unique feel to the hotel just added to our experience. Breakfast in the Garden was also a lovely treat.
Traveller's tip on dining
Eat dinner ealy - lots of the restaurants close by 9.30pm.
