Will go back
We stayed at Sheraton for two days before heading to the Mayan. The stay was very nice. Large pools. After the stay at Mayan, we had one night left and went back for additional night. We stayed in ’Club’ part, not hotel. Studio rooms with nice ocean views. Beds a little hard but it was Mexico!

An excellent hotel
I definetely recommend this hotel. The view from my room was spectacular, the food was very good and the atmosphere, both at the main lobby and the different restaurants that make it up, was georgeous. My room was always perfectly clean.

Keep looking...There are beter hotels than this
My wife and I just got back from our honeymoon. I’m sure this hotel was grand in its day but this hotel is definitely due for an upgrade. It’s about 25 years old and it shows. The toilets barely flush and the shower fixtures are falling apart. While the pool is nice the beach is terrible! Basically it’s nothing but rocks. Truth be told they don’t put any money into this hotel with the attraction being below market room rates to get people in and sell time shares. In fact, they reserve the nicest area of the hotel only for time share presentations. The food is ok but nothing to write home about. The staff is accomodating and friendly.
