Casale Romano
Sabina was a lovely hostess. We enjoyed our stay at Casale Romano and felt it was good value. We stayed in one of the apartments - it was very spacious for 2 but would have been improved by some good cooking utensils and comfortable easy chairs or settee. I’m sure we wouldn’t have noticed quite so much but visiting in October means you spend a lot more time indoors than in summer! And we were on a fairly limited budget so cooked for ourselves a lot so limited utensils was noticed. Sabina was great though at providing things when we asked. Swimming pool was lovely as were the views. The property is set above but immediately adjacent to the road and you do get some road noise during the day. We had only one evening meal at CR and this was very good and good value for money. We stayed for 2 weeks and this was too long in one place for us; we should have made it a 2 or 3 centre break but that was because we hadn’t done our research properly - we didn’t realise the island was so large and that driving to different parts of the island would be so slow (but exciting!) There is so much to see on Sicily.

Great stay in Sicily
Spent a very enjoyable week at this guest house. The hostess was extremely friendly and helpful, serving excellent authentic Sicilian food every evening. The only downside was that our room was next to the dinning room which could be a little noisy, and there is a main road that passes next to the property. Having said that, we would certainly return for another stay.

Panoramic views for breakfast
The Hotel lies in the mountains just outside Motta Camastra surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is run to a very good standard by a friendly family, who is happy to help you with anything and give great tips about places to visit. Breakfast is great with cappucinos, cake and freshly squeezed orange juice and is served on the terrace on sunny days giving a beautiful panoramic view. The hotel offers massages that can only be described as heavenly and has a nice pool again with great views into the surrounding countryside. Dinner is optional, but definitely to be tried as the cooking is excellent and the price is very reasonable.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
You will need a car to get around, but the location is ideal for visits to all the towns on the nearby coastline. Be sure to visit the gorges as Gole Alcantara just 2 mins from the hotel and eat with Giuseppe and Mario in the little Restaurant opposite, as this is the best food we had in our two weeks!
