Very pleasant stay

Enjoyed a couple of nights here - very pleasant stay in a well designed boutique-style hotel. Not particularly value for money but then nothing on Capri is.

Hire your own boat to explore the island and get yourself to the Blue Grotto entrance. Much more fun than getting on one of the shuttle boats from the harbour.

Easy to get to, total luxury, would go back in a second.

This hotel has only 26 rooms and it was newly remodeled. We felt like we were royalty while there. It overlooks the bay and ocean where you come in on the ferry’s. This makes it very easy to get to. We stayed in a junior suite. The only downside was the aircinditioning was not as cold as we are used to so the room was a little warm. However this seemed to be the case everywhere we went in Italy. The room, hotel grounds and the attentiveness of the staff more than made up for the air conditioning. The grounds were spotless and the room was the best that we stayed at in our 2 weeks of traveling through Europe. We can’t say enough nice things about The Villa Marina.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

Be sure to pay attention to the fee’s when buying Ferry tickets to Capri. They charge for your bags but it should only be a couple Euro’s per bag. They charged us 16 Euro’s per bag. Also, be careful with taxi’s, ask upfront how much it is from place to place before getting in and taking off in the taxi.

A seriously chic and uber romantic hotel

Wow, what an amazing boutique hotel. Stunning room, top spec with views to die for. On arrival we were shown a choice of rooms and was even offered a free upgrade complimentary as it was our 10th wedding anniversary but chose a pool suite room (2nd private terrace jacuzi plunge pool) with amazing terrace with private candle lit dinner from the hotel’s swanky restaurant. It was absolutely perfect and the hotel staff could not have been more helpful. One of the most amazing trips we have ever had.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

We ate in three restaurants and the food was excellent in every one! Was plenty of places to eat at reasonable rates too but we went all out for a gastronomic feast! Try Aurora (fish) and Theatro (meat or fish set menu) in Capri or the sea facing restaurant behind the ticket booth for the funicular in the lower harbour area. If you are staying on the island make sure you hire a scooter for a day (Euros 50+) if brave enough!
