Great place to stay if you want to see Berlin from the comfort of a lovely hotel
Gerat hotel, 35 minute train ride from Schonfield Airport. Trams every 2 minutes to Alexanderplatz taking about 10 minutes from immediately in front of the hotel. Bar and restaurant have great views of the city. Comfortable air conditioned rooms, very modern with LCD TVs. Staff very friendly.

excellent stay at contemporary hotel
i really enjoyed my stay at andels.the hotel is super modern with an amazing attention to detail.rooms are all fully air conditioned and provide all mod cons for an enjoyable stay as well as little extras such as speakers in the bathroom which give it that little bit extra.the sky bar hosts an impressive view over the city and is the perfect place to start drinking before heading into the centre-trams into the centre are pretty regular.all the staff were extremely helpful and courteous during my stay.
Traveller's tip on nightlife
i found kilkenny’s an excellent vibrant pub and whilst it is a traditional irish bar it is a great place to meet people-the staff are first class and there are some great live bands on inside and outside the pub.infact,the street musicians are better than those playing inside!

Exceeded expectations
We really loved this stylish, contemporary hotel. Don’t be put off by the fact it seems a bit far out of the centre of Berlin. The tram stops just outside the hotel & is quick and frequent. Our room was spacious with large bed, desk, settee, coffee table, armchair, footstool and wall mounted TV. Tea & coffee making facilities included. Bathroom included separate shower and bath all in contemporary chrome and glass. Breakfasts offered wonderful choice. Hotel staffed by mainly young folk who are friendly, helpful and seem genuinely proud of their hotel. Excellent room service available for weary travellers who don’t want to go and search for a restaurant. Nothing to fault in this well run hotel.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Advise getting Berlin Welcome Card and making good use of the trams, S-bahn, U-bahn and buses. Fantastic value !
