Reasonable hotel - a bit tatty but great central location

The hotel was in a slightly alarming location next to a flyover but the room itself was quiet and pleasant. We stayed there due to the proximity of the hotel to Chinatown, Scirocco restaurant at State Tower and the river front (all easy walk away). Swimming pool looked acceptable but unfortunately shut at 8 so we didn’t get to use it. The corridors and common parts were the worst part insofar as the decor was dowdy and dirty but nonetheless the hotel was great value for money in a great location, so exactly what we wanted

Scirocco Restaurant (open air 64th floor restaurant) on top of the State Tower is a five minute walk away. If you go there for cocktails they will send you to the cocktail bar on the other side. Have one there and then try and grab a cocktail at the cocktail bar attached to the restaurant since it is a lot more impressive.

Very convenient

This hotel is in a convenient location & is a five minute walk to the skytrain station. Take no notice of the comments regarding "poor breakfast". Unfortunatly I did & omitted to pay for breakfast on my booking; which ended up costing me a lot more than if I had paid at the time. Breakfast is fine; as long as you do not expect cornflakes & milk, like I think some previous visitors must have expected.

Everyone mentions the hotel is near to the skytrain station, but a 5 minute walk past the station, brings you to the river, which I found great for hopping on a ferry to take you up river for a few baht.
