Average Marriott
Hotel reception was a four star but rest of hotel was definitely more a 3 star. Receptionist told us on arrival that we had been upgraded to a superior room but that is what had been booked and paid for initially. Bedroom was okay but bathroom was definitely lacking in quality and was more like a 2/3star hotel. The staff in the restaurant were very helpful and the buffet style breakfast was edible. Be wary of the mini bars in Marriotts even if you move or knock over an item in there you are charged it is all computerised.

Not a four star hotel
Stayed two nights in August 2009 to visit family. Hotel is undergoing a refurbishment, which does not add to the experience. Room was very tired and dated, with an uncomfortably soft bed. Bathroom had mould on the walls and cracked floor tiles. Restuarant was closed, so breakfast was served in a function room which was far too small to accommodate the number of guests. New bar area was more like a canteen, but very overpriced for Swindon.
