Sleep Inn Urbana

Not very impressed

It was a football weekend and they ran out of breakfast long before 9:00. Also, the front desk was very short staffed.

My stay in Urbana at Sleep Inn

Well, the front desk and the staff that clean the rooms were great. The hallway and stairway carpets were filthy. The pool was cloudy, and it is below ground level and the windows start at parking lot level on one side, and it is very disturbing that most of the windows were open WITHOUT screens. I closed those and locked them. the lobby was filled with cobwebs on the vault ceiling, and the plants caked with dust. It seems the owners are too cheap to do these extra things that make all the difference...including upgrading the dollar store breakfast for the money. I would not stay there again.

I would take my chances at red roof inn, save some money and go to the Urbana Aquatic Center which I believe is 6.00 at most per person

Pool was closed----

I went there for the pool, The sign outside even mentioned about having one. Got or suits on and found it to be not operating and was down all week. Should have left for another hotel.

Never stay at one of these again!!!

We got there at 5:30PM. Check in was anytime after 3:00PM. When we got to the room it was dirty, coffee cups everywhere, towells on floor and bed was unmade and had been slept in. They did give us another room. We were tired and hot and anxious to spend time in the pool, one of the reason we chose this hotel from the list was for the pool. We went to the pool and the area was very dirty, water was milky looking and there was hair floating all over the top. No pool for us!! I wasn’t about to get into that! My husband and I were very upset at the condition this place was in. We feel we wasted our money there. We do not reccomend this hotel to anyone and I wouldn’t mind a refund either!!

Non smoking room smells like smoke

My main beef here was that my non-smoking room had burns on the carpet and smelled like smoke. They need to clean the carpets or something.

Did the job

The hotel was nothing spectacular, but it had a comfortable bed and despite allowing pets it did NOT smell and was quiet.

Terrible Night’s Sleep

There was a loud banging noise that would go off every hour, making it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. The bed was uncomfortable. We were given a coffee maker with no coffee pot. There was a light out in the toilet area, making us have to use the restroom in the dark. When asked to change a light bulb, the man at the front desk said he would but never came. The hotel staff was rude to us, told my mother to "get over it" or "go somewhere else," and insulted her in front of another customer.

Quality, Comfort nd Affordability

Located just outside the campus of the University of Illinois, the Sleep Inn Urbana provided an excellent space for lodging. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was very comfortable and always clean. Having a coffeemaker in the room was wonderful as was the complimentary continnental breakfast. I would book time in this hotel again.

Nice hotel, clean, quiet and safe.

Good Inexpensive Hotel

Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was well above average.

Great Value for the Cost

The room was very adequate. Very quiet, but outdated decor. The cost was very much in line with our budget and will probably book this again.

Keep the door locked!!!!

My room was clean and the location was convenient. Those are the the only good things I can say. The staff was less than cordial at check-in (acted as if I was disturbing them). Over-flow parking was not clearly marked and rear-entrance door was covered in vomit. I reserved my room for 2 nights. Twice on the second day, someone tried to enter my room because it had apparently been assigned to them by the front desk. The second time occured a few minutes past midnight. I was traveling along so it was rather frightening to wake up to the sound of someone trying to enter my room!!! Nobody on the staff seemed concerned about it nor did they apologize. Never again will I stay at this or any other Sleep Inn.

good room for the money

The room was beautiful, with a huge bed. The deadbolt was broken, though, and the sink drain didn’t work right. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

Good for a night’s stay

The room was clean, we got in really late. Had to stay one night cause the dorms weren’t open yet. It was comfortable, really close to campus.

Needs Improvement

We stayed at the Sleep Inn Urbana when we visited Champaign, Illinois for a college football game. The door to the room was open when we got to the room. The room didn’t appear to be cleaned very well; there were peanuts on the floor. The shower light/fan didn’t work and was plastic (not a standard tub/shower). Very strange.... The continental breakfast was very limited and ended too soon. I will not stay at this hotel again. A nicer hotel is right across the street...I’ll be staying there next time.

Close to Univ.

Not the best place but it was close to the U of I and was affordable... did look like it was in the middle of getting remodeled.

A decent value relative to price.

Decent hotel

The rooms could be cleaner than they are, but otherwise the hotel was good -- the service was good, the breakfast was good, and the price was good too.

Needs Improvement

We checked into the room about 10 p.m. We went to shower only to discover that the only soap in the bathroom was a used bar of soap in the shower and used towels and washcloths. Needless to say, we were thoroughly disgusted! We went to the front desk and were given fresh towels and toiletries.Then we had two more problems. One,our room was next to a storage room so we had that activity to listen to all night. Then a very noisy and active person was in the room above us and moving what sounded like furniture virtually all night so we had very little sleep. We did not "Sleep Inn" at this hotel!

If you are looking for a nice hotel that is close to the interstate and has an indoor pool this is a good value.
