Westin, N.Jersey--Worthy of its 4 Star status!
Couldn’t fault our short stay at this hotel. We visited to support our son-in-law run his 1st marathon, so cheap, convenient accommodation was at a premium. We settled for 4* plus traveling over to Manhattan, rather than 2* in Manhattan itself, and didn’t regret it, as the Path Train Service was so conveniently near. A word of warning, not all subways or train lines boast lifts and at the end of 5 days, even I, quite a fit 68 year old, was weary of climbing steps! Another tip, hotel breakfast, though v.good, was very expensive! We found plenty of good eating places in the shopping mall behind the hotel. Finally, leave the mini fridge alone! You might be charged just for reading the labels, if you move the contents!
N.York is a fun city at any time of the year. Recommend a visit to Katz’s Deli, Serendipity for OTT decor but excellent food, Magnolia Bakery for smashing cakes, Chat’n Chew for its kitsch fifties soda fountain look plus hearty food, and The Wholefoods Store, to shop and eat splendid,organic foods!

Hospitable, polite, and very relaxing - will go again!
Once we checked, the service was phenomenal. The coolest thing for me was that at night, the hotel was beautifully, comfortingly quiet - in my room. Outside noises didn’t interefere with my sleep - and THAT was phenomenal!

Staff was warm and welcoming!
Perfect place to stay when visiting NYC, Eduardo to rest of the staff were INCREDIBLE. Stayed with my son for our first trip into the city and couldnt have been happier. Close by so much, quiet!!!
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Going to Statue from NJ side was perfect, when crowds were headed back to NYC side was ever thankful we stayed in NJ. PATH trains easier to navigate and so much cheaper than taxis, great way to get into city!
