Looking for renovation

Location is good but hotel is in need of renovation. Bathrooms outdated and decorating has not been done for many years.

great location

front dest staff very courteous and quick...the hotel is a good value, price extremely reasonable, location excellent....hotel is not luxurious but clean and well maintained...room was always clean when we’d get back from sightseeing....has an 80’s feel, kinda vintage which we found charming...did not wait long for elevator at all....I never ran out of hot water in the shower either, a big plus for me!!! Parking garage is small and sometimes narrow but we always found a spot! Overall, we were pleased with our choice.

We found a great authentic Japanese restaurant not far from the hotel in the shopping center....I think it started with the letter "M"... unfortunately, I threw my receipt away! Menu was inexpensive and the wait staff was so friendly and they helped us understand the menu better which was written mostly in Japanese with a few English captions underneath..... I loved my chicken dish and the various side dishes it came with. If you find this restaurant with my meager descriptions, you’ll know it’s the one!

Not impressed

I was just impressed with the location of the hotel and booked it. But when we checked into our room, it was horrible. We found hair everywhere on the carpet and there were spiders on the bed and the room was just shabby. We went back to the lobby and got ourselves into a different room on the 3rd floor which was a little better than the first one which was on the 16th floor. The AC was sounding really bad and the room was hardly getting cool. The bathroom was really tiny with no bath tub but just the shower. The elevators of the hotel seemed really old and they are very shaky. You just feel your heart drop everytime you go up or come down. The pool was under repair so they gave us the pool key for Ohana East. The restrooms in the lobby were under maintenance too. Just a very bad timing during our trip. The only thing I liked about the hotel is the location and the safe they provided in the room. Other than that it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Waikiki beach is a very good place to snorkel. Hanauma bay was the best to snorkel though if you are an expert swimmer. Diamond head hike was pretty good though a little tedious. Manoa falls is a must see with all the rain forest and a beautiful waterfall which was 150ft. North shore is a pretty drive and the colors of the water there was awesome. Polynesian Cultural center was a good place to enjoy the Luau. Waimea Valley was a pretty and decent hike as well.
