Top place to stay in Cambridge
Not quite the atmosphere of the old Garden Hotel on this site but more than adequate. There seemed to be an excess of staff for the amount of service produced.

Expensive but worth it
For us the outstanding feature was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, without exception. The hotel is situated on the bank of the Cam and has a lawn with trees where tables and chairs were set out. We were blessed with glorious weather and it was a delight to sit there with a drink and relax. The meals were excellent and of course, being Hilton, the breakfast lived up to its reputation. If you dont mind paying £5-£6 for a 175ml glass of wine and £8.50 for a double decker sandwich with additions, with other prices in the same sort of category, then this is definitely a place to go. One niggle: the air conditioning in our room was not very effective so, as we faced south the room was very hot. There was a balcony and we found that opening the door to that was a more effective coolant! All in all, wed definitely go again.
