Excellent Value
For those looking for a quiet vacation setting with the beach front almost at your front door, this would be your place to stay. We had a 2bdr beachfront on the 3rd floor....absolutely beautiful apt. very nice furnishings. gleaming white tile floors, new bathrooms etc. nothing second rate in the whole place....and the best bargain for the money i could find. the best feature would be the staff (Eddie). a warm welcome, anything you need, very accomodating. we used the hotel’s recommended shuttle (fee). they were waiting on us when we arrived, took us straight there. use the full kitchen unless you got money to burn. prices were outrageous compared to US, but do try the blue moon grille (one block walk). peaceful at night with the surf crashing in your front yard. if you want the bustle of the city, wrong place. if you want a top notch quiet vacation spot.......this would be your place.

Beachfront Apartments On Trinity
I actually stayed in the sister complex to Roydon, Beachfront Apartments on Trinity, which is next door. Eddie and his wife manage both the Roydon and the Beachfront. I had an apartment on the 2 floor with a large balcany opneing up onto a beach view (the beach is literally across the road). The apartments are very, very generous in size and allow for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. I really enjoyed this complex, which is idealy located for teh beach, bars and the bus service up and down the coast and to James Cook University. I also subscribed to wifi access, which worked very well. A shower room, bathroom, twin bedroom and double bedroom. All domestic appliances and washing machine. I’d recommend Beachfront Apartments to anyone wanting to stay at Trinity.

Outstanding Holiday
Our stay at the Roydon Beachfront Apartments was intended to be the highlight of a once in a lifetime holiday in Australia to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. As it turned out both the apartment and the location exceeded all of our expectations such that we can’t wait to go back again. The apartment was very large, quiet, and beautifully fitted out, with lovely views over the tropical grounds and the beach (which was just a few yards away). Julie and Eddie (the apartment managers) were extremely friendly and helpful. They arranged for us to be collected from and returned to the airport and were able to provide very useful wifi internet access, both at a reasonable cost. They can also arrange various trips out for you. Trinity Beach is a tropical paradise, a great location to chill out with warm, dry weather (in the dry season) in easy reach of many outstanding sights, e.g. the Great Barrier Reef. Everyone that we met was very friendly and almost everything that we needed was nearby (e.g. restaurants, cafes, convenience store, supermarket) with the centre of Cairns easily accesible via a regular bus service from right next to the apartments. All in all we cannot recommend the Roydon Beachfront Apartments more highly.
Traveller's tip on dining
The beachfront Thai restaurant (which is next door) does an excellent buffet on Friday evenings, but you need to book. For a more upmarket but conventional meal try the Blue Moon Grill (they do excellent fish dishes), just round the corner.
