Would definately return!
I brought my boyfriend here for a surprise two night stay for his 34th birthday. Upon arriving at the hotel I was so relieved by the first impression, the exterior and reception area are stunning, and I could see my boyfriend was very impressed too. The staff were very efficient, smart and polite. The hotel is split in to the old and the new, we stayed in the old part, but the rooms are the same throughout, modern, crisp and stylish. The hotel is also in an excellent location, in the Leidesplein area. Only slight downs were, leaky shower, some of the staircase / lift areas a little in need of tlc. Watch out for the mini bar, we couldnt find the price list, only had about 6 or 7 items, the bill was £42! All in all a great place to stay, highly recommended!

Impressive but expensive
This was a lovely, upmarket hotel which was probably a bit too much for us but we had booked for a special anniversary. The attached bar/restaurant was very expensive so we didnt use it. The location is ideal, close to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum. Within a minutes walk are numerous bars, cafes and restaurants. We had a junior suite which was very comfortable and clean - the bed was incredably soft so be aware. The receptionist was new and training so she didnt explain very well how to find our room - there are two sets of lifts servicing different parts of the hotel so we struggled at first to find our room. We really enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Tickets for the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum can be purchased at the canal boat office opposite the hotel - this saves having to queue when you get there.
