convenient Hotel location
Thanks to the chief receptionist I changed the room I got single with a queen bed, due to the very limited size of the room. The other room I got was standard double room, twin beds, single use, without upgrading of the rate.The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the hotel condition is the main weakness of Grande Hotel Do Porto. The unpleasant smelt was present in some periods of the day and night in the coridors and bathroom during my 5 days stay in October 2009. However, I intend to go back to this hotel at the end of November 2009 again, thanks to its great location and the extraordinary hospitality of the staff at the reception desk.
I went several times for dinner at the Majestic restoran, located near by the hotel. The food was good, the prices acceptable, the staff very helpull and polite.

Great short break.
Grand Hotel Do Porto is a very pleasant place to stay and is right in the centre of the main shopping street and easy access to all the main attractions. The breakfast was substantial and was served in the palacial dining room. Would highly recommend this Hotel.
