Not worth the money
staff were good, breakfast was mediocre, inflated bar prices ie being told we could only have double spirits after midnight! Room was tatty, felt like we were in the OLD part of the hotel.
walk acreoos the bridge and through the subway. ok if your a cuole or a group but wouldnt recommend sole travellers or young women to walk that was and its about a mile into town.

Pleasant Suprise
First impression when you pull up outside is this is impressive. The Top Hatted doorman comes to your car and helps with your luggage. The reception is small but pleasant. First impression of the room is good, but after staying for three nights you tend to find faults. basically the bed was big & very comfortable, but some days the cleaning wasnt 100%. The first night we had drinks in our room and the dirty glasses were still there when we checked out. However the newly built Kings area is very impressive ( including prices to match) and the Roman style courtyard was superb. Until we arrived we didnt appreciate that the Hotel was adjacent to Chester station. this was an added advantage as there was a free bus service that runs every 10-15 mins from the Station to the centre of the excellent shopping area in the city centre. Overall the stay was very enjoyable and would have no hesitation in recommending the Queen Hotel.
Our stay coincided with a Saturday race meeting. Although we are not racing fans we went along and had a most enjoyable day out. However after races the shopping centre area gets extremely busy so if you do not like excessive crowds check that your stay does not coincide with a race day.

fab hotel
Hotel is situated right outside chester train station which is ideal for train travellers. Hotel is comfortable been to the same hotel for the past three years and will still go back. Never had anything to complain about during any of our stays. Rooms are clean, comfortable the staff are very friendly and breakfast is fantastic...
