Room was spacious, fairly clean. We arrived at 9:00 pm and were given a room with 1 queen bed, but reservation was for 2 doubles, since we had our teenage son with us. Our room was changed after a short wait. New room however, had 3 lamps, 2 of which had burned out bulbs. We didn’t bother to complain at late hour, but left a note for them the next day. Parking in garage was free since the Esplanade gives you a card to swipe to exit the garage. Very nice of them. Very loud in the street outside room, we turned on the AC fan to drown out music and shouting. For one night of sleeping at a reasonable rate, we would stay there again.

Not Impressed
Although the elders who live at the Esplanade are lovely people, don’t stay at this alleged hotel unless you want to get a taste of what it’s like to live in an assisted living facility. This isn’t really a hotel, it’s an assisted living facility that rents out empty rooms. All of the rooms surrounding our room held residents that live in the facility. In addition, our room was not what was represented online and it was dirty. There was no maid service and the front desk attendant on the night we arrived was surly and rude to the two guests checking in ahead of us. Although the location is admittedly great, there were no other redeeming factors. Wouldn’t go back.

Esplanade a fine deal
I stayed there for 10 days and was very satisfied with the service, location and the amenities. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, the included breakfast was more than adequate, and my room was huge. Two things I didn’t like-it got noisy at night towards and during weekend nights due to nightclubs/bars nearby. Also, the entrance to the smaller lobby in the Esplanade is open until ? and there’s no one on duty in that lobby. Security issue, although I personally never felt unsafe. Can’t beat the location-close to stores, restaurants and transportation, including the airport and NYC. I’d definitely stay there again if the noise problem could be solved.
